The Latin origin of the word education means “to nourish.” Just as we need daily physical food, we need to be regularly nourished spiritually. Christian education—at home, school, and church—provides spiritual nourishment for the mind, and teachers can present challenging thoughts that awaken deeper spiritual commitment among their students.
