Deepen My Heart

I was a mature Christian. I had the theory and technique down, but where was the fire? The connectedness to God? Spiritual stagnation. We’ve all tasted it. We hang in there, going through the motions, but at some point, we find ourselves silently screaming: “There’s got to be more to it than this!” Deepen My Heart is about feeling closer to God. We talk a lot about bridging the gap to God—about how remote He seems, but I discovered He was always close by, just as big, bold and exciting as ever. It was my heart that had changed. It had lost its capacity for absorbing the fullness of His love and needed to be stretched and deepened.

In this book, I draw from my own spiritual life and the lives of other Christians to share what has been most helpful in building intimacy with God.
